Stop, read it again. Imagine I’m standing in front of you, with every inflection of sincerity.
You look pretty today.
Only four words, but to a woman they hold an awful lot of power. They can add a bounce in your step that you may not otherwise be able to give yourself or can crush your self-esteem when you feel you don’t hear them often enough.
You look pretty today.
They are also the words we use to compliment each other, or boost a friend when we notice they’re feeling down. I love your hair! Great outfit. You’ve lost weight! Almost everyone has told a friend she looked pretty, even when we don’t really think so. We do this, because those words are the quickest way to generate a smile. You know that it’s something she wants to hear. Even if met with modesty, you know that she’s going to walk with her head a little higher that day.
I figured I’d share it with you all, because i know it can be hard to find websites directed at teenage health. Mostly you see 18+ websites - which is fine, because our bodies are still growing, but I would love to see more health related sites for teens. Not necessarily weight loss sites, but healthy living ones, I guess? Anyways, the site is above, have fun!

Hey, I'm sorta just wanting to get your advice on this situation. I'm an overweight guy, like I'm obviously a bit fat but I'm not like huge. I have this subscription to a 24 hour guy but I always end up not going because I get self-conscious about what other people at the gym might think. Do you have any suggestions to getting over the initial fear? ;x Thanks.
I totally know how you feel, when I first started going to the gym I was a wreck. I was afraid all the people there would look at me and go “omg why is she even trying, she looks so dumb”. For the longest time I wouldn’t even make it to the gym, I’d walk there, get scared and walk back home. I’m actually considering signing up for a spinning class, but I know I’ll be the only person under 20 there. But you just have to sit down and think about it: You have to start somewhere. Plenty of people have the same fear, but you seriously just have to show up and do it. I don’t know what the atmosphere is like there, but where I go people are super nice. They don’t care if you’re 100 pounds or 300 pounds - you’re getting off your butt and making an effort, which is more than most people can say they do. I would suggest getting a friend and maybe going once and seeing how you like it. Don’t like, majorly push yourself that day, observe mostly, you know? If you feel good there, maybe you will have worked up the courage to go alone. And honestly, if you’re not comfortable going alone at first, that’s cool. I don’t go alone! I go with my grandfather or my best friend. You just really have to throw yourself into it, think about how badly (or not) you want to get in shape. Sorry if this didn’t help ;-; Good luck!
I’ve been putting off posting this for months because I keep finding more awesome workouts! I hope you guys find this helpful and have fun trying out all these great workouts. May you burn lots of calories, sweat buckets, and look hot :)
i lost 5.7 pounds in less than three weeks just by doing the "world's fastest workout" (look it up on youtube) 6 times a week (and i just kept eating normal), yay :)
That’s really great! I’ve heard amazing things about it, I have yet to get around to it. I’m thinking about doing it on my “off” days (the days I don’t hit the gym), hopefully it will be effective. Congratulations, though and can I just say it’s nice to see someone who exercises but doesn’t need to restrict/fast like crazy to lose a few pounds. ;-; I mean, I don’t know what “normal” eating is to you, but yeah. :)
hey i was just wondering if you knew the best diet food. like what are the best fruits/veggies to eat, any bars, etc.
I don’t diet, I eat almost whatever I want, just in moderation. Any fruit or vegetable is good for you if you don’t eat too much of it or coat it in butter/dressing/whatever. If you’re looking for specific things to eat whilst dieting, I can’t help you. The only things I’ve cut from my diet are fast foods, pop (YES even diet - 0 calories does not equal healthy) and a few other junk-y foods. My best suggestion is to turn to google.
Help me?? Whenever I watch pretty little liars I totally binge. Because It's so suspenseful I can't stop eating. I try to have healthy food like apples and vegetables, but I still eat a lot of them. I do so good during the day too, But it comes on at night so :/
Don’t watch it at night. Watch it online during the day or record it and watch it during the day. Invite people over and watch it with them, most people don’t binge around others. Don’t eat at all when you’re watching, it’s not good to eat while watching tv because you almost always over eat no matter what you’re eating.
Remember Lara Logan, the CBS reporter who was separated from her crew while covering the revolution in Egypt and brutally raped by a mob of men? When she spoke publicly about her attack, she bravely broke a longstanding silence on the part of female reporters assaulted on the job.
… But Dan Rottenberg, editor of the online arts magazine Broad Street Review, doesn’t have any sympathy for Logan or outrage on her behalf. Instead,Rottenberg says Lara Logan is to blame for her gang rape because she once showed cleavage at a US award show…
Victim blaming in the media is all too common, and an article like this is undermining to woman, and completely wrong. Its just plain disgusting how somebody could write this sort of article blaming women for being raped: ”Earth to liberated women: When you display legs, thighs or cleavage, some liberated men will see it as a sign that you feel good about yourself and your sexuality. But most men will see it as a sign that you want to get laid.”
What about women who dress conservatively who get raped? What about children, and men who are raped?
I doubt he would he write an article saying “Earth to alive people: if you walk around being alive, most people will assume that you are alive. But serial killers will take it as a sign that you want to be murdered.” Because that sounds ridiculous doesn’t it? Well so is this.
